Step 1: Determine what type of potluck party you will be attending. If it’s a hawaiian theme, you can choose a hawaiian dish. If it’s a barbecue theme, you would select a barbecue dish. Easy enough, right? Once you determine the type of potluck party you will be attending, you can jump on to the internet to search for the perfect recipe. Within minutes you will find the perfect recipe.

Step 2: Your internet search begins. If you’re looking for a hawaiian dish and you want to bring a salad, you would search “hawaiian salad recipe” in google. Your search will return 884,000 results. Surely, you can find a dish from this many results to take to your potluck. Let’s say you choose the dish “Hawaiian Macaroni Salad”, which happens to be one of my favorites to bring to a potluck because everybody loves this dish. Simply, click on the link to the recipe and check it out. You can even do another google search for hawaiian macaroni salad, which will return 144,000 recipes, all for hawaiian macaroni salad. Another search will help you zero in on the exact recipe you want to find.

The secret is to find a recipe and recipe site that looks good. There are a lot of recipe sites that do not have good recipes. Here are some recipe sites you can trust (and most of these recipes will have reviews so you know which are good and which are bad): All Recipes, Food Network, Recipezaar and Simple Recipes.

You can figure out the rest of what you have to do…make the recipe. One thing I like to do is rate the recipe. Be sure to return to the recipe and rate it in order to help others that may be in the same situation you are in.

You’ve probably already heard that getting more Omega 3 polyunsaturated fats in your diet is really good for your health. Really good.

Scientists are finding more and more reasons to take more Omega 3 fats into our bodies. Our hearts, our eyes, our brains, our organs, there’s so many reasons to get more good fats into our body.

There’s 2 essential fatty acids found in fish oil, the best source of Omega 3 fats. One is DHA and the other is EPA. DHA is the most important, but EPA is pretty important too. Both are what are essential polyunsaturated fats.

And fish oil has plenty of good Omega 3 fats in it, so most Omega 3 supplements are based on fish oil.

But there is a third important essential fatty acid called ALA and it is the plant based form of Omega 3. It is converted in the body to DHA, although there is some doubt over how much is converted and for this reason DHA is considered better.

What you eat is what gives you your Omega 3. By far the best way to get a daily dose is to take fish oil supplements daily, but adding some more Omega 3 fats to your diet using some Omega 3 recipes from a good Omega 3 cookbook.

There is both bad fats and good fats. The good fats are the Omega 3 fats, the bad ones are saturated fats found in diary foods and meat. So if you find some good Omega 3 recipes and start reducing the bad fats and increasing the good fats you’ll do a power of good for your health.

For example olive oil, canola oil, and flaxseed oil have healthy Omega 3 fats in them. And some foods also have good fats. For example walnuts. Brussels sprouts, kale, spinach, and salad greens do as well.

Whilst the vegetables have ALA fish, particularly oily fish, has DHA. So adding fish to your diet is great. But the FDA tells us to eat only moderate amounts of fish due to chemical contamination.

So if you take your fishoil supplements daily and you also do some Omega 3 cooking then you’re way in front. Find a good Omega 3 cookbook with plenty of Omega 3 recipes and you’re on your way to good health.

So grab a good Omega 3 cookbook and start making some recipes. Buy a high Omega oil to cook with and begin cooking some Omega 3 recipes for the family.

So remember, take your fish oil supplements for that DHA and EPA and find a good Omega 3 cookbook. Start cutting back on the saturated fat foods and concentrate on high Omega 3 recipes when you’re cooking.

I absolutely love corn chowder…even more than clam chowder. When I think of chowder, I think of corn chowder, not clam chowder. Nothing beats a really great corn chowder. Although, clam chowder in Boston is pretty darn good. I really love the subtle sweet taste of corn and when you add it to a creamy soup, it’s absolutely delicious. If you disagree with me, try this corn chowder recipe out.

Ingredients: 6 Red Potatoes, Peeled and Cubed, 2 (11 oz) Corn – Whole Kernel (Canned), 1/2 Cup Bell Pepper – Green, Chopped, 1/2 Cup Onions, Chopped, 1 Tablespoon Seasoning – Red Pepper Flakes, To Taste Seasoning – Salt, 2 Cups Vegetable Broth, 1 (12 oz) Package Tofu. Yes, tofu!

Cooking Directions:

1. Place potatoes in a large pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook until tender, about 30 minutes; drain.

2. To the potatoes add corn, bell pepper, onion, red pepper flakes and vegetable broth. Boil for about 15 minutes; remove from heat.

3. In a food processor puree all but 1 1/2 cups of the vegetable and broth mixture with the tofu. Next, combine the pureed mixture with the remaining 1 1/2 cups vegetable and broth mixture, and cook over low heat for 5 minutes; do not boil. Season with salt, to taste.

This recipe is super simple and once you make it for your family, they’ll be begging you to make it again. Just be sure not to tell them how easy it is.

Number 1 tip for making chowders: Start out with a slice of salt-pork. Render it in the soup pot by adding a little water and then browning slowly. When you add your onion and celery with some stock it will deglaze and add tremendous flavor. Keep it in the pot throughout the cooking and remove before serving.
